Why does this not surprise me..
Dictionary.com/Monday

Mon·day (mnd, -d)
n. Abbr. M., Mon.

The second day of the week.

[Middle English from Old English Mnandæg (translation of Latin lnae dis, day of the moon): mnan,
genitive of mna, moon; see moon dæg, day; see day.]

I've always thought of Monday as the first day of the week. I still do, but now I'm assuming it's just me..

Btw, I'm updating the journal again Precipice
Why Friday the 13th Is Unlucky

"Part 1: Paraskevidekatriaphobia - Fear of Friday the 13th."

I'd heard of triskadekaphobia, which is the fear of the number 13, but not the whole fear of the Friday the 13th. For me, Friday the 13th doesn't hold any fear, it's an unusual day because, as this article states, it affects so many people (the amount of car accidents actually go up, too wierd), but not me.

For me, it's Monday. Not the Monday the 13th, Monday the anything. I'm never completely relaxed on a Monday, if shit's going to happen, it's more like to happen on a Monday.

"If you have 13 letters in your name, you will have the devil's luck (Jack the Ripper, Charles Manson, Jeffrey Dahmer, Theodore Bundy and Albert De Salvo all have 13 letters in their names). "

OK, anyone who didn't just count the letters in their name, is a better woman than I. (Amanda Page, 10 letters. Amanda Jane Page 14 letters. Amanda Gaden 11 letters. so, I'm covered there, no worries.)

"Ships that set sail on a Friday will have bad luck - as in the tale of H.M.S. Friday ...

One hundred years ago, the British government sought to debunk the
widespread superstition among seamen that sailing on Friday was unlucky. To that end, it commissioned a special ship to be built and called it "H.M.S. Friday." They laid her keel on a Friday, launched her on a Friday, selected the crew on a Friday and put her in command
of Captain Jim Friday. Finally, H.M.S. Friday embarked on her maiden voyage - on a Friday - and was never seen or heard from again. "

Alrighty then. That's just thumbing your nose at fate a little too often to have a good outcome. I'm not seriously superstitious, but doing a major thumbing at the Fates like that, just gives my crocodile brain the heebie jeebies. I suddenly want to spit several times, and throw salt over my shoulder..
