8:45PM – 9:15PM New pedometer says (because it speaks in a metal female voice when I push the wee talk button) 3280 steps/1.04 miles.
A day, starting with a sleep in until 10:30, followed by intervals of turning up to keep track of the money and tickets for the theatre fundraiser cruise I’ve been working on for the last 6 weeks. Postponed from 2 weeks ago because of the 6.5 inches of rain and thunder and lightning on the last planned day, today’s weather was Perfect. Thank Goodness! If I’d had to postpone again, I was going over the edge.
Walked with Jeff up and around some of our neighbourhood streets and back.

7:45 – 8:35PM 5863 steps 1.86 miles.
We left our walk until the sun went down a little. We spent about 3 hours today at a family yard sale. I didn’t think about sunscreen or a hat and my arms are red, my cleavage is red, my face is red (except for the white rings of my eye glasses, I look like a sunburned racoon), even my hairline is red! So no walking in the sun.
We had to get some cash out of the ATM, so we decided to walk there and back, make that tonight’s walk.
We took a little 10 minute break in the middle of the walk, to get the cash out, and make a drink stop at the Walgreens.
We bought Fiji Water and Iceland Pure Water because I wanted to compare. Both chilled from the same display fridge, both about the same price. The Iceland Pure definitely had a crisper “taste”. I mean, bottled water is bottled water, it all tastes like water. But the Iceland water was cleaner and crisper than the Fiji water, and the label talked about a more neutral PH, maybe that was it.
Course, the label also talked about Iceland having the longest living people, and the water being the reason, so I’m taking the label with several grains of salt.
My pedometer is new, new to me anyway. I bought it at the yard sale from a kid for $1.00. Its similar to one I bought a few years back. Similar to this one but with the word TALKing on the front and black and silver, not blue.
But with the same rooster alarm and talking woman! I gave it to a friend of ours, Pat, because it had the rooster sound and she wanted that sound.
It seems to work quite well, I’ll have to test it on my everyday walk, see if it comes with an answer like the other pedometers, and whethere it’ll give the same answer twice!

Up early because the Comcast tech guy was scheduled between 7AM and 9AM. Walked past a brown bunny who froze up until I got a little too close and then bolted. Just in someone’s front yard! When I came back round the loop the bunny was contentedly snacking on grass. Lots of kids out waiting for the school bus, and cars zooming past, running late for work. They seemed late for work, the speed they were doing down our little back streets.
Really, I should have an appointment every morning, I got so much done! A longer walk (my usual morning walk plus a side trip down Galasstown Road to the factory intersection and back), loads of washing, swimming gear organised, cat litter cleaned. I may well be knackered at the end of the day, early mornings can catch up on me that way.
We’re doing a DiBruno Cheese and Flying Fish tasting with Plin tonight, that should be enough to keep me going.
