In the morning, from 2AM until about 10ish, we got 4-5 inches of rain. Completely put the kibosh on our planned fundraiser cruises today. Crappy weather and having to cancel everyone’s Sunday plans, I spent the day napping and watching the teev.
We went to an open house soiree this evening, a couple of new guys in town for the Arts.
Jeff and I then went for a walk after that, started at 8:50, got back around 9:25. No pedometer, just a short stroll.

Total, hour of walking. 5215 steps.
Busy all day, lists of things to do, so Jeff and I went for a walk in the twilight. We had to drop a ticket for the Theatre’s fundraiser pontoon cruise off at a nearby friends, so we decided to make that our walk.
We left around 7:30, and got to her house about 8:00, and met her in the driveway. We talked for a good hour about art and life and plants and rain and cats and guinea hens and wild turkeys and foundations and advisory boards and pro-bono websites and sunsets and restaurant dinners.
She went in for her dinner (take away, which had been sitting in the car for the duration of our impromptu chat, and we walked home.
We did a loop round through the new development that has sprung up near her house, where the trees all used to be. Made some of our conversation with her much more meaningful and pertinent and happy making. About a half hour home.

The power was off, due to the big, quick, thunder and lightning and rain storm. We left around 7:15, and came back about 7:45. Forgot the pedometer, but they’re erractic anyway, so not a big deal.
We walked over towards the high-school and around in a big loop. Lovely weather, the rainstorm left a nice cool breeze and cooled the air completely. Not one of those storms they have here where the humidity is worse after the rain than before.

7:46 – 813PM
Too damn hot and humid during the day. Woke up around 10, and it was already too hot for walking.
Hot plus humid plus no central-air equals perfect day to hang around the house, laying in bed, under the ceiling fan, eating farm share, fridge chilled watermelon and catching a four hour re-running of the first four episodes of Season 1 of Life on Mars.
Went for a walk in the twilight with Jeff, over to Glasstown avenue and around the loop. A little twingy at the lower part of my spine from the all-day lounging meant we walked a little slower than usual. My pedometers both went on strike. The blue one registered 3 steps, and the red one only registered 1300 steps. Despite the slower walking pace, it wasn’t *that* slow.
I want a new pair of
